This year I will be continuing my reading challenge from last year, updating only those categories, which have no entries so far. So I won't spam you, my dear watchers, too often (especially with 'Book you own but never read') :P
And I am not going to post any new reading challenges after finishing this. If you would still be interested to know, what I am reading, you can find me on GoodReads (username is the same as here on DeviantArt). Sometimes I add book reviews on that site, but so far they are all in Lithuanian. If I read the book in English, might write review in English. But so far most of my reads are in Lithuanian.

Goodreads Reading Challenge

But I have also set up a more realistic reading challenge at Goodreads. Here I wish to read 10 books in 2015.
www.goodreads.com/challenges/3…
I completed the challenge! Three books ahead of schedule :)

Knygų iššūkis

And I also participate in Lithuanian initiative Knygų iššūkis (Challenge of Books). Every participant has to make a list of 12 books (+ 2 alternatives) to read in a year.
At first I participated in 2013 and read 8 books.
Last year I completed 10 books.
So I hope this year will be even better La la la la
www.100knygu.lt/issukis/dalyvi…
I am considering giving up this one. The website got new address, new look, new idea. Now it misses the things I liked and still has so many things not done in order to work properly. I feel that it tries to become Lithuanian version of GoodReads.

It is time to feature artworks from my "Favourite Digital Art" category.

END by rutaizmas by :iconrutaizmas:
Speed painting which is more about mood and concept. This makes me wonder what is going on in this landscape.

Traditional Art Feature

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 7, 2012, 11:12 AM
Gallery l Watch Me l Note Me

To celebrate 12th DA birthday I am going to feature 10 best (in my opinion) artworks from each of my favourites folder. I will try to explain, why I like each one of them.
(I hope that I will be able to make it today.)
The first is Traditional Art.
Personally, it is my favourite kind of art. In these artworks I search for interesting concepts, extraordinary views, exceptional skills. And traditional art inspires me the most.

Mist by StudioUndertheMoon by :iconstudiounderthemoon:
At first it looks like a neat mess. This mess makes a surprisingly realistic ship. And I know that it is actually very hard to get these details. I like the overall mood created by colours of the painting too.

Mystery and Art of Water by youngmoons by :iconyoungmoons:
Her art amazes me all the time. She draws a lot of details in her drawings. I can observe her drawings for very long time and every time I can find some details I missed before. And I just love these surrealistic themes.

Sometimes people are beautiful... by TheJoanaPADJ by :iconthejoanapadj:
I think I have a weakness for hair drawn in this style :D First I notice the hair, then the rest face and everything else.

Redrawn by Linaku by :iconlinaku:
I like how the girl and her hair merge and disappear in swirls.

Blood Roses by Super-Chi by :iconsuper-chi:
This artist is so amazing! I love her works. They have an amazing concept and are very well executed.

stormbringeR by weremoon by :iconweremoon:
Only one colour, but so many shades. I like then shading is done by lines in different angles and density.

0111 by VasiljGodzh by :iconvasiljgodzh:
Very simple and very calming. Almost hypnotizing.

Spiralina by rezahash by :iconrezahash:
This kind of abstract drawings inspires me the most.

Arisaig Dusk Light by NaismithArt by :iconnaismithart:
It looks like random brush strokes. But they make up a nice landscape.

Pateo do Collegio by tamino by :icontamino:
This drawing is so realistic. Every time I look at it, I have to make sure if it is in traditional art gallery.

Hello, my friends!

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 7, 2012, 9:53 AM

I haven't been very active for the past... year?
I didn't feel like doing something related to art.
Every time I looked at my camera, I thought: "I would like to take some photos. Maybe I will be lucky to get some nice pictures."
But then I just wasn't able to find anything to make a photo of... Nothing looked interesting or nice enough for me.
So I focused on my studies. In this field everything went very well. I am a very good student and I am eager for new knowledge and new experiments.
Now only one year left for my studies. After that I am thinking about master studies. Because you probably can't do any serious work in physics if you have only bachelor degree.
During summer I am... how to explain this simpler to you... working (kind of). Of course, it is related to physics.
But now I have more free time. I spend it watching movies and reading books. And sometimes I feel a very strong wish to draw.
I did few small drawing as gifts to my friends.
For now, my favourite medium is pen and markers. As Pablo Picasso had blue and rose periods, I am having very colourful period.
I just can't stay to one colour or tone. I need to use the whole rainbow! The usual motives are abstract or fauna/flora inspired.
I have few photos taken this summer. But I am not sure, if I upload them. Sometimes I just don't think they are good enough to show to anyone.
Maybe I'll draw more drawings and scan them. So you will be able to see them ;)

  • Listening to: Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams
  • Reading: Isabel Abedi "Lucian" and 3 more books :D
  • Watching: "Bones"
  • Playing: Computer keyboard
  • Eating: Buckwheat with pot-roast

Just some thoughts...

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 6, 2010, 12:28 PM
I was so passive these few months! Maybe it's because of my studies? Or maybe I am out of inspiration? I have some photos of my traditional art not submitted to my gallery yet, but usually I have no time to organize them.

My recent deviations were random meme's:
Google Meme ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
Summary Of 2009 Photography ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
Handwriting Meme ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…

And some projects:
Gift Idea ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
Human Influence On Nature ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…

It was month and a half of quiet flowing by. And it is not over. Now I have do to many things in university and exams want take too long to come. But I will try to capture my inspiration again.

CD Art

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 22, 2009, 2:44 AM

A few years ago in summer I created something knew. I had oil paint and a lot of old CDs. So i decided to paint on them. And now I started to upload pictures of them. All of them will be put in my ausrejurke.deviantart.com/gall… gallery. Some of them are already uploaded:
"Dirty Infinity" ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
"Red Blur" ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
"Flowers Wars" ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
"Red Swirl" ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
"Indifferent Flowers" ausrejurke.deviantart.com/art/…
The funniest part of creating this kind of art was mixing colours. Now the CDs have so many different shades.
I hope you like my CD art. I will upload more one day.
